my fav 3 local mountains

My favorite mountains in the northeast!!!!

1.) Killington- If you have not noticed I love killington mountain. It is the biggest mountain in the northeast no matter if you are a beginner or an expert there is a trail that you will love at killington. I personal love the waffle house it is so de-lic! Killington gets really crowed sometimes like in times of school vacations which is why I like.....

2.) Pico! pico is a smaller mountain which is down the street from killington! Because killlington is so well known everyone is always there and and forget about pico leaving pico with some nice soft POWDER!i went down my first mobiles at pico although at the time i didnt realize i was going over what ended up being a huge jump and i screamed the whole way down until i LANDED it! The price of a lift ticket is def the best out of all of these! If you are looking to save a few bucks def go to pico over killington

3.) Loon~ when you want great powder go loon mountain! they have some of the best beginner trails and it is where i first went snowboarding! It is more local to UNH so if you are a UNH student its a great mountain to go to!

Other local mountains i reccomend......waterville valley(near loon), Stowe moutain (expensive but if you go on the perfect conditions its worth it always powder!), Bolton Valley (south of stowe in vermont good value)

Growing up in Northern New Hampshire, I was only fifteen minutes from two mountains. So by the time I was three my mom and dad had me skiing. I held a pass at Cannon Mountain ever since I can remember, but the past few years I have gone to Bretton Wood Ski and Resort. This past year my boyfriend took me to Stowe which I have to say, is one of the best mountains that I have ever been too, it is challenging. Loon is about a twenty minute drive from my house, but I hardly ever go there, it is a little flat. Skiing is awesome!

I used to ski and got so bored with it. But my goal of the winter is to learn how to snowboard! You blog looks wicked nice too. Good job!

Alyssa! I absolutely love you blog! I love the pictures you put on of yourself, especially the one of you sleeping in the car. It makes me laugh! I went snow boarding once but my teacher was awful so I just ended up walking down the mountain and drinking hot cocoa in the lodge! I would love to learn how to ski and maybe snow board again! It's my roommates goal to get me to go skiing this winter! Anyway, great job with the blog!

Alyssa,

Good stuff, being a skier myself I found this incredibly interesting. I love Stowe, Loon and Waterville, I like how you added the upcoming events, I'll have to check back in later this winter when Im heading to the mountains.

I love your blog because it makes me even more motivated to try skiing/snowboarding out this winter! I have never done it before, and am determined to learn this year. I'm glad you made this blog because now I have some legit places to try out!

Ahh the good old days. I remember when I was really little, I used to take skiing lessons at Pats Peak. I had grown to love it, except now I am bored with skiing and I want to try something new and exciting, like snowboarding. It's kind of pathetic that I have only been to two mountains Pats Peak and Loon and I have lived in New Hampshire all my life. I would like to visit more this winter and be more adventurous, which mountain would you recommend me to visit first?
