My favorite mountains in the northeast!!!!
1.) Killington- If you have not noticed I love killington mountain. It is the biggest mountain in the northeast no matter if you are a beginner or an expert there is a trail that you will love at killington. I personal love the waffle house it is so de-lic! Killington gets really crowed sometimes like in times of school vacations which is why I like.....
2.) Pico! pico is a smaller mountain which is down the street from killington! Because killlington is so well known everyone is always there and and forget about pico leaving pico with some nice soft POWDER!i went down my first mobiles at pico although at the time i didnt realize i was going over what ended up being a huge jump and i screamed the whole way down until i LANDED it! The price of a lift ticket is def the best out of all of these! If you are looking to save a few bucks def go to pico over killington
3.) Loon~ when you want great powder go loon mountain! they have some of the best beginner trails and it is where i first went snowboarding! It is more local to UNH so if you are a UNH student its a great mountain to go to!
Other local mountains i reccomend......waterville valley(near loon), Stowe moutain (expensive but if you go on the perfect conditions its worth it always powder!), Bolton Valley (south of stowe in vermont good value)

KILLINGTON, Vt. (Winter 2007-08) – From the season-opening Loaded Turkey Rail Jam, to the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix Finals, the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge and Pond Skimming, Killington Resort and Pico Mountain feature a season jam-packed with events, entertainment and activities.

Loaded Turkey Rail Jam 4 2/3
Skiers and riders compete on the rails for turkeys, stuffing, cranberry sauce and other prizes at the early-season terrain park on Reason.
December 8-9
K07 Summit
A weekend full of activities, featuring free demos, fireworks, parties and the $15,000 Rails to Riches Rail Jam for skiers and snowboarders at Killington.
December 6-9
4th Annual Vermont Holiday Festival
Selected as a “Top 10 Winter Event” by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce! The family oriented event will feature more than 100 decorated trees, Santa’s workshop, sleigh rides and more. All trees will be raffled off at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel.
January 6-11 and 13-18
Collegiate Snow Fest
Two weeks of music, movies, parties and other activities geared toward college students at Killington.
January 13
Telemark Demo Day
Mountain Travelers Hike and Ski Shop brings some of the top telemark manufacturers to Pico Mountain for a day of demos and an opportunity to ski the latest gear. This event is free to anyone with a lift ticket for the day or valid season pass.

Dead Presidents Rail Jam
Skiers and snowboarders compete in this competitor judged rail jam for cash and prizes at Bear Mountain.

What better way to start off Easter Sunday than with the Sunrise service at the Peak? Then get first tracks with the kids as they search for treats left behind by our local Easter Bunny at Killington!

The biggest party in the east centered around a full weekend of mogul skiing on Bear Mountain’s Outer Limits.

Spring Loaded & Boarding for Breast Cancer
Riders compete in superpipe, night rail jam and slopestyle as part of a great spring party at Bear Mountain, plus live entertainment! The weekend is dedicated to raising money and awareness to help fight breast cancer at Killington.

Sunshine Daydream
A tribute to the Grateful Dead featuring live music all day, drum circles and ti-dying.
April 13
Pond Skimming
A wacky right of spring, skim the pond or watch while others try. Prizes for best skim, best splash, best costume and the special judge’s award.
